Stepping into Fall one Scrub at a time...

Good morning folks!
Hello and welcome to FALL! Now where oh where did Summer go?  I feel like it really blew in and out so fast but I did have an amazing time!

In June the hubby and I went to Nashville, he had to go for work, I just went along for the ride.  Boy did we have a great time!  We were so excited to attend a concert at  the Grand Ol Opry, we went on a dinner cruise, visited their local mall, ate great food and just enjoyed every minute of our time together.  It was so much fun!

Towards the end of June, my daughter and I went on her Boston trip.  That was quite an adventure!  She had an amazing learning time.   It was Celine's first time to fly, first time to go to a beach, and her first time walking the pier.  What a blessing it was to spend time with her and my sister and nephew.

With all of the traveling and my other job, I felt like my soapy mojo had left me, but I am so happy to say that it is BACK!  Last weekend I  made a list, pulled fragrance oils off the shelves and then had a short meeting with my Celine.  She really is the inspiration behind most of my projects.  I find her energy and joy contagious.  :-)

Shall we get back to business?

The first sugar scrubs that I made were the Apples & Acorn Scrub.  I made 2 separate scrub bases.  The first base is scented with  my Green Apple fragrance oil, this one was made with my regular white sugar scrub base, the second base was made using Brown Sugar and the Apple & Acorn fragrance oil.  I then added each scrub to a piping bag, combined those into a larger piping bag then piped yummy scrubs into each container.  To top it all off, I have a small acorn soap that will be shipped with the Scrubs.  I wish you could take a whiff of this amazing scrub!  It reminds me of walking thru an Apple Orchard.

The next set of Scrubs that I made were the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Scrubs.  Again I made them into two bases.  The first base, the one that is pink is made with my white sugar scrub base and scented with my Strawberry Rhubarb Pie fragrance Oil and Sweet Strawberry.  The second sugar scrub base was made using Brown Sugar and scented with my Sugar Cookie fragrance oil.  I tell ya, combined the scent is delightful and makes me just a tad hungry.  I also topped these sugar scrubs off with a mini Strawberry Glycerin Soap, the little soap has real Strawberry Seeds..yum yum!

We couldn't have Fall with without Apple Pie!  But no, I could not make just ordinary Apple Pie, I had to add Cinnamon too.  I LOVE Cinnamon!  Do you?  I love it in pie, oatmeal, coffee ..well the list is endless. *grin*.  These lovely scrubs were made with two bases as well.  The first base, the yellow scrub is my white sugar scrub scented with my delicious Apple Pie fragrance oil, the second base I whipped up more Brown Sugar base but I added Cinnamon fragrance oil.  The top of the sugar scrub has a mini apple scented soap.  Apples so remind me of fall/harvest.  How about you?

After all of the mixing and piping, I needed a pick me up.  Coffee Delight Sugar Scrubs were next.  The tan scrub was made using my Brown Sugar base and scented with my scrumptious Fresh Brewed Coffee fragrance oil while the cream scrub is my white sugar base and scented with my Chocolate Espresso.  And then to top it all off, I made and added a Coffee Bean scented soap.  Can you say fabulous?  Coffee combined with chocolate..you just really can't go wrong.

I am not done yet!  I have 4 more Fall Inspired Sugar Scrubs coming up!  All of these fabulous scrubs can be found here .  I also deliver here in my neck of the woods.  Until next time, I hope you have a FanTastic Fall Day!

Cupcake Craze!

Good Afternoon my luvies!  How are you all doing?  Is it Spring in  your neck of the woods?  Here in Colorful Colorado we weren't really sure that Spring would ever get here.  While we still have Wind..lots and lots of wind, I have noticed that the days are warming up and the sun is shining brightly.  I am ready for Summer!  It is my favorite time of year..no layers, longer days, warm nights=heaven. :-)

Back to the NEW products!  With Spring on my mind, I decided to enlist my assistant...aka Celine my daughter.  She has such an eye for colors, scents and design.  Together we came up with lots of Bath Fizzy Cupcake ideas.

The first cupcake that we have here is Dahlia & Lychee, I can honestly say I am not a familiar with flowers and their names, however I do love this fragrance!  What exactly does it smell like? It smells like juicy lychee, crisp apple, peach nectar and a hint of floral.  I think the added fruit scents are what I find so appealing  I am a fruit scented gal thru and thru.  I find that I gravitate towards citrus, apple, peach and melons.  We also used Environmentally safe eco glitter for the sprinkling on top..sigh ...I do love glitter!

We couldn't stop with the Lychee & Dahlia, we moved on to the Enchanted Orchid Cupcakes...I tell ya, feels like I was walking thru a floral shop here in my studio.

Another personal favorite is the Wild Peach Poppies, gotta love the Peach added to the mix :-)

While we were loving the floral scents, we did feel like we needed to balance it all out with a bit of rain.  Spring Rain that is!  A dewy blend of Lily and Jasmine with Lemon and refreshing ozone..there I go again with the citrus..it just couldn't be helped..these fizzies needed it!

In between all of the cupcake craze, I decided to try making Bubble Bars. this is a new recipe. (love it!)   I can honestly say that the bars bubble wonderfully.

I personally test all of my products folks, it's a tough job..but someone has to do it.  *wink*   I seriously have very high standards when it comes to my products and what goes out to my customers.  I look for:

1.  Bubbling Action-does it bubble enough?
2.  Does the product dissolve quickly?
3.  Scent-is the fragrance strong without being overpowering?
4  Is the fragrance relaxing?  What kind of mood does it set?
4.  Does the product leave a residue?
5.  Do you feel like you need a moisturizer after?
6.  Is this the absolute best product that I can make?

When all of my questions have been answered, my products go out to "Testers" they then give me feedback.  After all of this is done, then the new products become photographed, packaged and listed.  I always want the very best for my customers, you all are my number one priority. :-)

Other than creating lots of bath fizzy cupcakes and bubble bars, I have been re-vamping the Heaven Scents Etsy Shop.  Right now we are running a fantastic did I mention FABULOUS Mother's Day Sale!  Yes my friends, everything, ALL  of the wonderful items in my shop are 10% off! This includes Custom Orders.  You don't want to miss it!  So go ahead and spoil your mom, sister, best friend, grandma or yourself.  You will be glad that you did. :-)

As always, thank you so very much for your continued support and kindness.  Hugs and warmest of wishes!

Exciting New News!

Hello hello!
Welcome to another year and almost a New Month.  The beginning of this year has brought forth change and lots of it!

I must admit, closing down my store front hit me like a ton of bricks.  While I tried to remain positive on the outside, inside I was feeling a bit down and unsettled.  The job and career that I had loved the most had suddenly ended.  In the end I know it was the right decision but change is HARD.  I like having a routine.  I can honestly say that the last six months have challenged me, it has been a time of uncertainty and at times sadness.  For the longest of time, I couldn't talk about it, talking meant that I had to put my feelings into words and that was just painful.  Missing my customers has been heart breaking, they filled my life with joy and friendship like no other.

After much consideration I realized that while I had closed down the store that doesn't mean that I can not continue to do what I love.  Creating is much more than product, it is an outlet for my thoughts and gives me such peace.  Sharing what I enjoy also brings me such happiness.

Having something to focus on besides work and family has proven time and time again to be what works for me.  With all of that in mind, I decided to take the plunge and start filming soapy/product videos.  This has been on my "Bucket List" for quite some time.  However thinking, doing and sharing are three totally different things.  Getting over my self consciousness was and still is difficult.  You would think that  after 40+ years in my own skin, I would feel confident and more self assured.  I tell ya, this is hard. Why is that we can pick out all of our imperfections but try so hard not to do that to others?

My first soapy video was the Dunkin Suds Soap Set.  I tell ya, I recorded FIVE videos, each time I found fault and was so harsh in my critique of myself.  Isn't that crazy?  I finally decided that it was as good as it was going to get.  I released the video on my FaceBook page, what an overwhelming of love and support.  I am so grateful to my friends and family for being so considerate and caring.

After the positive response to the 1st video, the next week I filmed another one.  White Chocolate Raspberry Sugar Scrub.  This one lasted a bit longer than I had anticipated but it was so much fun.  Once I got over the initial self doubt I was ok.
I still have a few of these super yummy scrubs left.  As always they can be found online or in person.  :-)

With the New Year here and gone, I along with some folks have jumped on the exercise band wagon.  For a few days, I was so sore.  So glad that has passed along with my need to do "wall sits" who came up with those?  Painful is the only word that I can use to describe them.
Being that I was so sore, I decided to whip up a batch of my Muscle Rescue Bath Fizzies.  These are no ordinary bath fizzies.  They are fully loaded, Hemp Seed Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Rhassoul Clay, dried flowers and herbs and of course the Muscle Rescue fragrance/essential oil blend...awww totally relaxing and so beneficial.

I am slowly uploading the videos to my YouTube Channel, but for now they can be viewed here on my Facebook page.
